The FIEP and the Industry on Paraná The Industry Federation of
Paraná State (Fiep) is the biggest entity entrepreneur of Paraná. Founded in
1944 by nine syndicates (of wood, mate, graphic industry, cocoa bean and
bullet, breadmaking, tailoring, metallurgy and mechanics, dairy products and leather), today reunites
96 industry syndicates that represent 39 thousand companies.
The Federation leads a sector, which generates 700 thousand employments
and it is responsible by 1/3 of PIB (gross domestic product), 54% of deposit
from ICMS (Tax about operations of circulation of products, and about rendered
services of transport contribution interstate and
between cities, and about communication), and for 60% of exportation on Paraná.
The numbers of industry on state have grew a lot on lasts years. In
1990 it was 18,4 thousand of industry and 360 thousand employments. And the
industrial PIB was 36% lesser than the US$ 18, 2 billion nowadays, that put the
State between fours biggest PIB of transform industry of Brazil.
One of the differentials of Paraná’s industry is the decentralization
of production. It exists companies through regions of state,
such as Metropolitan region of Curitiba,
which is about 40% of industrial PIB of State.
The Fiep attends and supports this growth. Such as legitimate
representing of industry, it acts politically to stimulate the development, the
modernization and expansion of productivity, and competitiveness of industry of
Paraná. Its structure reaches all State by Regional Coordination, and by Sesi,
Senai and IEL unities, which joint with the Federation they form the Fiep
System.
Cloth and Clothing Industry of Paraná
· The Paraná has 5.588 industries connected to cloth and
clothing sector
· Major of theirs are small companies
· On Paraná, the sector is second biggest employer from
industrial area, employing 15,36% of total employees of industry
· These industries employ more than 90 thousand people,
which represent closer 6,74% of all employees of sector in country
· There is some clothing industries through regions of
State. The North it has 2.342 industries, 42% of total of State.
· On Northwest it is also a important center of sector,
and it has 19,1% of unities of industrials sector
· The third
region is the big Curitiba,
which concentrates 15,17% of industries.
· In 2009, the cloth and clothing sector exported R$
119,5 thousands and import R$ 101,7 thousands
· One of the characteristics of clothing industry of
Paraná is the organization in Arrangement Productive Local (APL)
· The Fiep System supports six Arrangement Productive
Locals (APLs) from clothing sector, comprising 1.835 companies that generate 35
thousand employees directs
· The APLs is localized in Londrina, Apucarana, Cianorte and Maringá,
Terra Roxa, Francisco Beltrão and Imbituva. Some of them are specialized:
Apucarana (caps), Terra Roxa (fashion baby) and Imbituva (tricot). The others
producer general confection
· The APL of caps, from Apucarana, it was one of the
firsts arrangement of State. It integrates today 298 industries which employ
7.285 people
· On South-West
there is production of social masculine fashion, but exists also important
companies producers of feminine fashion (social and sport), jeans (masculine
and feminine), brands licentiate (to a company such as brand “Zezé di Camargo
& Luciano”), sport clothes, professional uniforms, shelters, including
production of uniform used by Brazilian team on Atenas Olympiad (2004)
· On West region, the industries of Terra Roxa have
learned the importance of cooperation to augment productivity and expand the
market with baby clothes.
· Organized in APL since 2004, 44 companies generate
1.048 employees, between direct and indirect.
