Paraná Business Collection comes to its fourth edition

On February 22nd to 26th, the Exposition Center Horácio Sabino Coimbra (CIETEP) in Curitiba, receives the 4th Paraná Business Collection (PBC). In five days, Paraná will show all its talents of fashion creation and production. It has been considered one of the most important fashion events of the national calendar. The PBC represents the union of business, creativity, design, and style, and includes Paraná among four major national poles of making clothes.

Realized by FIEP (Industry Federation of Paraná State), through Clothing Industry Sector Council, and by Sebrae/PR (Brazilian Service of Support to Small Companies); coordinator by the journalist Nereide Michel (NaModa Comunicação de Estilo) and by the producer Paulo Martins (OX Comunicação de Moda), the Paraná Business Collection shows notability because two actions: Parallel Events which includes workshops, conversations, debates, and the João Turin Award of Incentive to New Designer to fashion courses from the state.

In 2010, the organization of the event gets new strategy based on force and tradition of the South market, such as reference on casting of Winter fashion. The three firsts editions have focus on Summer casting.

Business


In 2009, the Business Show Room of the 3rd Paraná Business Collection results more than R$ 5 million in business, 10% more than the value of the second edition, in 2008. The Show Room that has functioned from Monday to Thursday, on Cietep, reunited 25 trand marks of Paraná, from West, Southwest, North, Northwest, and South Center. Fifty three shopkeepers from São Paulo, Santa Catarina, Goiás, Distrito Federal, Espírito Santo, Rio Grande do Sul, Pernambuco, Minas Gerais and Paraná were invited to know the quality, style, Design and creativity of production from Paraná, as well 750 shopkeepers from Curitiba and Metropolitan Region.

The 4th Paraná Business Collection will bring shopkeepers from many Brazilian states to know, prospect and do good trades with companies from Show Room. Many clients will can do good business because of the quality and creativity from 2010 Winter collections. The event is important to integrate the production to the market, making good relationships between trand marks, fashion designers, shopkeepers and commercial representing.

Fashion Shows


It will be five nights of fashion shows that will present to the public the novelties from important brands and fashion designers from Paraná to 2010 Winter. In this edition parade: Jefferson Kulig, Lafort, Fabio Bartz, Lucia Figueredo, Sinistra, picnicdelefante, Basic, All Purpose, Raffer, Chita Brasil, Joyful and Silmar Alves. Besides that, it will have a fashion show with thirteen finalists of João Turin Award of Incentive to New Designers, which will finish the event.

Parallel Events


Such as tradition of the officer fashion event, the parallel programming will attract professionals and public interested in many aspects of the fashion universe. The IX Fashion Cycle Update includes conversation, debates, and creation workshops, besides the João Turin Award of Incentive to New Designer. The themes Design, Sustainable, Identity and Social Inclusion will be talked on conversations and workshops from the cycle.

Creation Workshops

On February 23rd the fashion designer Mary Arantes will minister the workshop “Threads that Reveal” which has the objective of exercising the creativity. The participants will have to produce a bijouterie using just one thread.

On February 24th, Mary Arantes will be responsible for the workshop “Sensorial Experimentation”. The space is dedicated to sensibility and identification of the participants with blind people.

The Mary’s workshops are limited to 25 participators and will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m. The registrations for both workshops cost R$ 100.

On February 25th the hatter from Curitiba, Tânia Ribas, will minister the workshop “Which Hat Should I Go”. Tânia intends to show to the participants many styles of hats, as well as the form of production. The workshop happens from 9 a.m. to 12 a.m., and it is limited to 20 participators. The value of the registration is R$ 50.

Conversation Cycle

On February 23rd, at 2:30 p.m., the stylist Walter Rodrigues will talk about “Inspiration, Creation and Fashion Product”. Walter intends to explain his creativity process and his researches to make his creations to the fashion world.

On February 24th, at 3:30 p.m., Patrícia Dalpra will minister the conversation “Who We Are, What We Are?”. She will talk about fashion tendencies and concepts about research in five regions of Brazil.

Also on February 24th, at 5:30 p.m., Mary Arantes will talk about the theme “From Nature We Spoon Remembrances”, when the designer will talk about her history.

On February 25th, at 3:30 p.m., the researcher, designer and a PhD in Communication and Semiotics, Suzana Avelar talks about “Fashion Globalized and Digital Culture”.

Debate

On February 25th at 2 PM, the editor from the newspaper Gazeta do Povo, Danielle Brito, will be mediator of the debate “Excessive Thiness: Beauty Standard?”. The debate is open to public and will happen on Caio Amaral Gruber Auditorium.

The theme “Fashion in debate: From Class To Work World” will be discuss on February 26th at 3:30 PM.

Expositions

Take Away The Hat To The Hatter –
Exposition that shows the work of the hatter, creativity, design and research. The hat is presence obligatory on the international fashion shows. It is a good complement that surprises by audacious solutions to fashion designers. It is a perspective to the hatter profession that reunites the tradition of workmanship and concepts of contemporaneous fashion. The exposition will have the participation of three hatters and twelve stylists from Paraná.      

Sustainable, Identity and Design – the exposition will show the themes of the fourth edition of PBC.

7th João Turin Award

For the first time, in seven editions, the João Turin Award of Incentive to New Designers, has 13 finalists, and not 12 such as lasts years. According to the organizers, this result occurred, because high quality of the works presented. The 13 finalists have been chosen by a judge commission formed by the stylists Jefferson Kulig, Simone Gubert, Patrícia Bonat, Caroline Pigel and Louise Alves, by the journalist Adélia Lopes, by the photographer Vilma Slomp, by designers Marcos Novak and Rodrigo Alarcón, and by the costume producer Aldice Lopes.

The projects were developed from the theme “Paulo Leminski, The Man, His Words, and His Time” and they were analyzed by three criterions: creativity, fidelity to the theme, unity between conceptual and commercial creation.

The winner will be known in 26th, after fashion shows of finalists of 4th PBC and will receive, such as prize, a travel to Milan and Paris, to integrate the Company Mission organized by FIEP, thought Business International Center. Besides that, the winner will receive the trophy João Turin, which in this edition will have new proposal. It is united to identity from Paraná as symbol of stylish from any epoch.
