Fashion courses, education and labour market are themes of discussion on PBC

In its last day, on February 26th, the IV Paraná Business Collection realizes the 1st Coordination Meeting of Fashion Courses, during parallel programming of the Fashion Cycle’s Update. Coordinated by the fashion designer and chief of Design Department of Londrina University of State (UEL), Dorotéia Pires, the action is pioneer in Brazil. Dorotéia participates and organizers forums and conversations. She believes that it is important reunites the teaching body to discuss about interests and common difficulties between schools.


According to the designer, “the intention is promote a meeting between schools from all modalities, such as graduation, technical colleges, specialization, and others, to make an articulation about class, education and work, as perceives the understanding of reality in academy”, explains.

In this meeting will occur the debate From Class to Work World, which will be discussed themes such as courses project, training, students, teaching body, and labour market. Also “promote fashion around all the protagonists, such as industry, designer, schools and understanding on Paraná”, says Dorotéia.

To the designer, “the fashion study is very new in Brazil, it is only 22 years, and needs discussion, theorist referential and forums”, says. Because of that, the meeting has the objective of passing information to teachers and documenting the debate to be used such as wellspring of information, research and study.

Dorotéia studied Fashion Design in 1982 in Italy, since that she has been working in this area. With big experiences, she coordinates the Fashion Schools Forum, and she is vice-president of Brazilian Association of Fashion Study.
