Translating all the sensations that food does was the challenge of Mary Arantes when she created her collection “To eat with eyes” that brings pieces that look for get up feelings and sense of people. “For almost of us the aromas of food are connected to memories infancy of good moments with family, friendly of places. Instigate this is very interesting”, said Mary
With this proposal the entrepreneur and stylist realized the workshop “Sensorial Experimentation”, on Wednesday (24), during the 9th Fashion Cycle’s Update of 4th Paraná Business Collection. Mary said to participants to create bijouterie with blindfold from natural pieces, such as the fragrant bark of the cinnamon tree, anise, and walnut.
Three blinds from Blind Institute of Paraná, Vera Cristina dos Santos, Maria Conrado and Sissi Aparecida, changed experiences with other participants and also developed pieces. They were invited to participate of the workshop and showed how they feel fashion, using other senses that are not vision. “We are perfectionists,” said Vera, who works with handcraft.
“The blind people usually have touch and smell more developed and can use theses senses to create fashion. When we blindfold some participants we could note that they lost references”, said Mary.
The designer Marcelo Alarcon was one of the participants that created a necklace with blindfold. “When we do not see, the audition and touch are more refined. But it is difficult have asymmetric things”. Marcelo said that the experience revealed sensations and brings back memories.
